John, I heard almost your whole segment today about the woman in BC who has had her 6th child taken away from her. I work with children under 5, who are developmentally delayed or at risk for delay, in their home with their families. We are called the Early Childhood Intervention Program and we are province wide. We also work with other agencies, such Families First, Child and Youth services, or Therapists that also work with the same children or with the families. I am certain there are similar programs and services that would work with this woman and her family to help her keep her children. I can not believe for a second that BC would want to burden its system by not trying to keep the child in its natural home. I am saddened for this poor woman who wants to have a family, who acknowledges that she needs assistance and then can not get it. My heart goes out to her and her husband and her children who can not be with their mother.
