Dir: Andrew Stanton

Synopsis: Wall-E is a trash collecting robot, left behind to clean up the Earth when humanity abandons the planet.  He falls in love with a robot named Eve and they embark on a cosmic.

Wowza.  Disney Pixar has set the bar once again.  This movie was an amazing feast for the eyes --- it almost looks real in points!  They use little camera tricks like a pull focus to trick your brain into thinking it's more real.

One of our listeners, Burk Reiman, told us about his recent escapades as one of three parachutists who landed at Mosaic Stadium during the Riders first home game of the year on June 19th.

Burk appeared on the show with me this morning to talk about parachuting and doing the things we've always dreamed of.  You can see his Mosaic Stadium jump by going to the Rider's site

--Is there any better place to be in Canada than being in the vicinity of the building that sits on Piffles Taylor way on game day???

--If they can call the Bell Centre in Montreal "the phonebooth" and if they can call Air Canada Centre in Toronto "the hangar", can we refer to Mosaic Stadium (Taylor Field)as "The Potash Pit"

--Its just one week but can someone let the Hamilton Tiger-Cats know that its about time they became competitive again. Their performance against Montreal was absolutely putrid

If you weren't listening to Gormley this morning at 8.30am, you missed a hell of a good debate.  (Catch it at your convenience by clicking on the onDemand link above.)

Liberal leader Stephane Dion joined the show to go head to head with John over his controversial new "Green Shift" plan to tax carbon emissions.  Dion admitted yesterday to the fact that Alberta and Saskatchewan are the two provinces that would be impacted the most under his plan, given that they account for about 40 percent of Canada's greenhouse-gas emissions.

The CFL season starts tonight and it should be a year of intrigue across the league as all teams have questions going in. Here's the way I see it shaking down at the end of the regular season

WESTERN CONFERENCE

1. BC LIONS (12-6)  - They still have the best team on paper. Guys like Simon, Smith, Murphy, Clermont, Miles, Johnson and Banks still make this team a solid favourite to be in Montreal November 23.
