I'm sure Sir Elton would approve.

This past Friday was one of those days that will live in my radio memory banks for a long, long time. I auctioned off a pair of front row seats for tonights soldout Elton John concert at Credit Union Center. I went into the auction with no idea how much we would make, but I had heard stories of people paying upwards of 2000 dollars for similar tickets. Well, to say I was blown away would be an understatement. In the course of an hour, we had 16 different people phone in bids with the first one being 250 dollars. When the auction ended, it had come down to a bidding war between 3 people and when the smoke cleared, the tickets were claimed by Sam Jamison with a purchase price of a cool $4000!!! Sam and his wife will also enjoy dinner before the show at Bliss Fine Foods on Broadway. Every dollar from the auction will go towards our annual Brent and Penneys Adopt a Family campaign this Chirstmas season. I know that Sam and his wife have an anniversary and birthday to celebrate but I hope they also take time to think about how many lives they will have touched this holiday season with their generous purchase and donation. Enjoy the show tonight!! The photo is from the lobby at Broadcast House where Sam claimed his Elton tickets.
