Synopsis: Indiana Jones becomes entangled in a Soviet plot to uncover the secret behind mysterious artifacts known as the Crystal Skulls.

It’s a box office home run --- raking in over 100 million dollars so far --- but the question on everyone’s minds --- did Lucas and Spielberg drop the ball like Lucas did in some of those new Star Wars movies? Or have they crafted a new Indy adventure that can sit on the shelf with the others?

It’s a tough call. On one hand, the movie is better than the average Hollywood blockbuster. But it feels a little carboard in places, like they’re going through the motions.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is classic filmmaking --- though there is humour, it takes the myth of Indiana Jones seriously. As the movies went on, especially with Last Crusade, things started to get sillier, campier --- still enjoyable, but more of a characature of the original movie. Though I don’t think Crystal Skulls was quite as enjoyable as Last Crusade, it has that same feel. Does that make sense?

4 Dorks out of 5 on the Geek-o-Meter!  It's still an Indiana Jones movie for Pete's sake!
