After 38 days of back and forth – today’s the day.  Election Day in Canada.  We probably need a theme of some sort, ala Hockey Night in Canada to get people pumped up and ready to go.  Well, we don’t – so it’s up to you.

Over the years I’ve voted for a party, an individual, strategically, pragmatically, and holding my nose in some cases.  But I voted.  Was any seat I voted for won or lost by a single vote?  No.  But I do it anyway.  If nothing else, it gives me the right to bitch till the next time around.

X marks the spot…  Dave

I dont get why voting "gives

I dont get why voting "gives me the right to bitch till the next time around."

It doesnt make sense anyone can bitch how cappy a job that the PM is doing. Whether I vote or not that SOB will be spending my money...and if a survey that is accurate to 2% says a tory/grit is going to win my riding whether i go out and vote or not...then im not going to waste my time!

Sorry my friend...

but I have to go with Dave on this one, no vote ... no right to complain.

Taxes do not give you a right to complain, they tax you in China too, try complaining there

Democracy and freedom gives you the right to complain. So go vote, then complain

If you like no one then do what I do, vote for the candidate that will do the least to you rather than voting for the one that will do the most for you.

I'm With You

I agree you can bitch even if you don't vote, and paying taxes does give me that right. I don't get people who say you should vote even though there is no one to vote for. That's like saying all the water samples show positive for poison but if you don't pick one and drink it you can't complain. They say our right to vote was paid for by the brave men of the WWs but I'm sure most of the dead would say it also makes you free not to vote if that is what your conscience says you should do. After voting in every election for 35 years I am abstaining this year because of the lack of reasons for having an election in the first place, the circus elections have become, and the contempt the Pm holds for most people.

Like?

Once again I will not vote for the party that I want to govern this country. I will vote for the party I hate the least.

Ignorant people shouldn't vote anyway

If you're not going to vote because a survey tells you who might win your riding then you are an idiot. Plain and simple. The uniformed, such as yourself, shouldn't be voting anyway.

Not able to vote

I went to my poll to vote with photo ID and and the mail out card that everyone received in hand.Being that I live in north central I do not carry a purse to walk the streets and as a result I was unable to vote. Later in talking with my daughter and co-workers they went with the same 2 cards and were able to vote.I just want that whoever is training these idiots that are sitting at the polls that there should be some consistency in that everyone is treated equal and that the same ID is accepted everywhere.
