(Complete with snow on the ground in many parts of the province, chilly weather, and festivus poles... er... Christmas trees all over everyone's favourite big box stores.)
If you're not in the spirit of the season yet... some suggestions on music to get you there...
Straight No Chaser : Holiday Spirits
You remember these guys from last Christmas, right?
Funny story... the video -- is nearly ten years old. And after millions upon millions of people watched the above video on Youtube last Christmas, Atlantic Records reunited all the original members of the Indiana University a cappella group Straight No Chaser back together to record an album for this holiday season. It sounds great... and should be part of your collection!

A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector

Yeah, Phil Spector may be on trial for second degree murder... but I can't deny the fact that A Christmas Gift For You is possibly one of the most potent Christmas albums I own. The wall of sound production technique, and the piercing vocals of Darlene Love make this a must-own for anyone's collection. This one can even turn the Grinchiest Grinch in to a Christmas whack-job.
Love Actually

Of all the modern Christmas movies, this is my fave. Highly recommend the soundtrack too for containing a few choice Christmas tunes.

Hopefully between all these pieces you can get yourself in to the spirit of the season... because mother nature has made it clear -- it's here!

You Know It's November, right?
Christmas is in December. Late December.
My Chirstmas season starts
My Chirstmas season starts Dec.1 and lasts until Jan 8th; which is the last US Collage Bowl game, which is fair and long enough.
Any thought of Christmas before or after that nauseates me!!!
Christmas
Anything before December 1 is a no-no for me. Even the Wish Book is out in Ocotber or earlier....I only get to see my kids for a day at Christmas time alternating between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day....One thing I am looking forward to is a collection of Beatles Christmas messages to their fan club...I finally have a USB turntable and can download the messages from vinyl straight to the computer..It's actually funny to hear how bored they get with the whole fame thing as years drag on..
I start preparing for
I start preparing for Christmas the first week of Advent, which is what Advent is meant to be. Unlike most of the world I KEEP celebrating Christmas for several weeks after the 25th which is the ACTUAL Christmas season. Anyone, like John, who is already getting "Christmassy" is doing what the commercial world wants them to do. I'm curious why this weekend marks the start of the Christmas season for you John? Last time I checked the calendar November 15th and 16th holds no special significance.
Since you are bringing up
Since you are bringing up music, let me remind you of one: The Twelve Days of Christmas. 12. Not 32. If you want to stretch it out a bit, fine, go a full two weeks. Granted, I put my lites up a few weeks ago, but crawling around on an icy roof just doesn't seem smart to me. They'll get put on a photo cell on the 13 of December. And as much as I do enjoy Christmas, remember, it's significance pales in comparison to the holiday celebrated in March or April. Christ's miraculous birth fulfilled several prophecies, but his sacrifice 33 years later is what bridged the gap between man and God.
Since Christmas is just
Since Christmas is just Christianity ripping off a pagan festival anyway, who cares?
