They took my burger away. I went to the Freehouse last night with some friends and was really looking forward to having a bison burger. I was totally craving one - my mouth was watering and my stomach was grumbling and I had decided I was going to get it long before I got to the restauant. But it didn't happen because THEY TOOK IT OFF THE MENU. Not the burger. Just the bison. You can get a beef burger (and a good one too), but it's just not the same. Not even close.

The menus were updated, which is great. I love seeing new dishes to try and was pleased with most of the changes I saw. Just not this particular one.

I like beef. And when I go to Bushwakker's I always choose beef over bison when ordering the burger there - I don't really know why, I just do.  But I loved getting the bison burger at the Freehouse and am totally annoyed that they changed it. Why? WHY? Why did they bring on the beef????

It's not really about the beef. It's about finding something you love and then not being able to get it anymore. Sometimes it's a favourite lipstick colour. You buy it and depend on it and then one day find out it's been discontinued. That always sucks. Same with perfume or cologne. It becomes your signature scent and then BOOM! Gone. Just like that. Then you're forced to stock up and ration each spritz. Lousy people taking away my favourite things...

I usually like change. But not this time. Sometimes some things just need to stay the same - like a reliable, dependable BISON burger when you're always the indecisive one at the restaurant.

I'll get over it. As long as they don't take away the Trad. THAT would be blasphemous.
