If you read a previous blog posting by "The King" Gary Nickle, you might be saying two things 1)I have no life when I have to resort to reading a blog by Gary Nickle and 2) How is it Gary Nickle gets a blog when Cory Kolt(the more than capable host of the aptly named Cory Kolt Show 3-6 Monday to Friday) does not have one?? Those are the two questions I at least ask. Well OK, there's 3 and it involves Gary informing the lovely ladies of Saskatoon if they would like to see his blog which probably gets him a slap or two but I digress!

I point to Gary's blog because he mentioned in it that he is in the company hockey draft. Gregger from Rock 102 in Saskatoon is the guy that sets it up and he makes it tough......real tough!! (unlike him!) He wants 20 players-- 2 goalies, 6 defenceman, 4 centers and 8 wingers. That's not tough. What is tough is that you have be at or under the salary cap of 42 million that he has set. 42 MILLION??!!! Commissioner Gregger is more of a tight-ass than Gary Bettman. Let me tell you ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls and everyone in Newfoundland this is no easy chore. In fact, if you would like to see how tough it is go to www.nhlscap.com which gives you the salaries of all NHL players and try and form a team of 20 players whose payroll is no more than 42 million. In fact, I urge you to try this. Yeah its too late to get into our draft but go ahead and try it just for fun!

It makes it very tough to get a Crosby, Malkin or Ovechkin in your lineup. In fact, none of those three are on my final 20 and I will be interested to see if someone did put one of those three on and if so what other scraps they have. It only took me a couple of hours of doing some serious number crunching to decide who stays and who goes and after hammering away at the calculator for a while and abandoning this guy to find this guy and so on and so on, I finally got to my 20. I may not have Sid or Alex but I have Ryan (Getzlaf) and Rick(Nash) and I have Jonathan (Toews) and Evgeni (Nabokov)...and I have one other thing as well. That is a much better team than what "The King" could have put together. You ain't beating me buttonpusher---not even with the help of Mr S-J Shark himself who I'm sure was grilled on several occasions while forming his 20 man roster. Speaking of Mr S-J Shark himself (aka Drew Remenda)..,why is it he doesn't have a blog on this website. That's another story for another time I guess.
