I like Ken Miller. I think considering the cruel hand that the football gods have dealt him he has done a tremendous job as coach of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. If this team doesn’t repeat as Grey Cup champs, many fans and people in the organization will wonder what if. However if Miller has one fatal flaw it is his continued desire to play Michael Bishop. It is clearly evident Bishop does not what have it takes to take this team to its desired target. His lack of consistency keeps killing the football team. A few weeks ago Miller said there was a reason for his decision to keep Bishop as the starter but he did not wish to elaborate. Miller has been forthcoming on every thing this year and has not hidden on anything when asked except for this. It is time for the coach to come clean on this issue. Rider fans deserve to know why a person who is consistently inconsistent remains as the starter while someone like Darian Durant who is much more composed and poised sits on the bench. Durant has proven he can do the job so get him in there. There is no more time to fool around and there is no more time for efforts like what we witnessed Monday. If the Riders are to make any noise before this season is over, Durant must lead the way. End of story!

I have a thought, maybe Coach Miller is keeping Durant on the bench so he stays healthy for the playoffs. If we have any hopes of going to the Grey Cup this year, it all happens in the playoffs. That is when we will use a fresh and health Durrant and stomp the opposition.
Take a look at the stats
Take a look at the stats (discount the turnovers) and then tell me what the score was.....
We turned the ball over on downs? That was a tired and beaten OLine that didn't have the strength (or Wes Cates) to get the one yard.
Our always perfect (and offensive) defense made a couple of mistakes and gave up touchdowns on them...Get rid of Bishop? Why? It is not his FAULT! Let's get some healthy players back and see how he does. Oh wait, you want Durant in when everyone is healthy......Even Crandall could look good when the rest of the team is healthy!
I think rather than pull a Gormley and try to incite something, you should maybe look into the real problems (injuries and a OLine that doesn't have the same people in the same position every week)and not start blaming the Quarterback.

Mitchell is right! (just late)
Some other sports writers in the province can verify that I have said, from the beginning, that Bishop is not the QB for us (possibly any team), and he is most certainly not a leader. He exemplifies the bad decision QB. He may be calling his own plays, but his execution is horrendous. He simply is not smart enough to be a QB.
The stats people will look at the numbers and claim that he is getting the job done. Well, I'm not the first to state that there is only one number that counts. The reality is that the current receivers are making him look way better than what he is. If there was a Fantuz or Flick or Dominguez playing, the results would be the same. There would be some outstanding Dressler-type catches, but still a loss on the scoreboard.
We tried Bishop and he failed. Now it is time to reward Darian Durant with the PERMANENT starting position. The message to the team would be that the dedicated sideliners will be rewarded (much like Dressler, Getzlaf, Bagg, Hughes and Foord were). The guys that stepped up were much better than those brought in. That is the team that Tillman and Austin were trying to build, so let's play it out.

Ever think Bishop is
Ever think Bishop is Tillman's guy and not Miller's....? That is where the "I can't comment" stuff comes from....I think Durant has Miller in his corner...not sure about the guy upstairs...that is where the problem lies.
QB job
Com on Mitch be Real I think it will not make a difference because our O line is depleted we have no running game and the only threat right now is Dressler.
Of course on the other hand Durrant kicked azz the last time we played the cats .Just remember what team got there only win of the season a couple years ago against the Riders. when everyone thought it was a sure win!!I don't bloody know what to think . But Gooooooooooooo GREEEEEEN!!
How can you cover the riders
How can you cover the riders on a week to week basis and be so wrong mitch?
The loss was not bishops fault...the team will be getting back more talent during the weeks and durrant will not change anything.
Our best chance at winning is with bishop! Strong arm...can make plays with his legs while cates is out.
Watch durrant blow bad against Ham this weekend! Im laying it down bigtime on ham this weekend...i just hope that ken keeps bishop on the bench the whole game........DURRANT BLOW!
