--With all apologies to Montreal's Marc Trestman and Calgary's John Hufnagel, the 2008 coach of the year must be Ken Miller. For everything he has gone through to have the chance at getting a 12 win season and perhaps a home playoff game can't be ignored.

--Weston Dressler must be named CFL rookie of the year

--All of those pegging Henry Burris to be the Most Outstanding Player in the West are obviously forgetting about Cam Wake. He's my choice. However, Anthony Calvillo gets the league nod as far as I'm concerned

--Have you seen the new video by Britney Spears for her song "Womanizer". If so, do you feel as if you have just watched 4 minutes of soft-core porn??!

--The Brett Favre talking to the Lions story is the biggest non-story out there that has exploded. Say what you will about Favre but do you really really think he passed on info about his old team to his new team about how to beat them. Then again, the Lions do need all the help they can get.

--Message to Premier Brad Wall. Perhaps you have been too busy to notice (which you likely are because I'm sure you'd be gloating to yours truly) but I am well aware that your Oakland Raiders have more victories so far this year than my Seattle Seahawks. By the way, I LOVE what you have done this week and for that matter, the last year in general.

--One can only assume that Sean Avery is idolized by Saskatoon Blade forward Mike Reich. I really don't know what one of these two is a bigger embarassment to the game.

--The Tennessee Titans are the last team to taste defeat in the NFL????

--Our own Gary Nickle took Brett Lebda in the Rawlco Hockey Pool. Brett Lebda??? I dont even think Brett Lebda's friends and families took him in their pool. Modesty prevents me from saying what kind of an early jump I have on "The King"---and Ryan Getzlaf hasn't even started to produce yet. Memo to Getzlaf...the season has started!!!

---So why is it drivers insist on passing you just to decide they need to turn one or two blocks later. Is it that important??!!

--I can't decide if Joe Buck is a better football or baseball play-by-play guy??

--Was that Kimbo Slice saying hello to me as I walked into the local Wal-Mart???

--Why is it some people deciding they don't have enough to do in their own meagre and obviously sad little lives decide to "spice" up mine by doing something that was none of their business anyway??

--Would a 2nd team in Toronto win the Stanley Cup before the Leafs. I think we all know the answer to that!!

--The new season of "24" starts on Grey Cup Sunday.  GRRRRR!!!!!!

Joe Buck....

Joe Buck is horrible. So is Tim McCarver. So are the Seahawks.

Miller’s choice of Jyles – regardless of whether he wins on Saturday or not – has ensured Ken will not get coach of the year. The majority of voters will view his September and October as flighty and disjointed – not the hallmarks of a coach of the year.
Weston Dressler has earned CFL rookie of the year.
Most Outstanding Player in the West will be Cam Wake; he will win the league award, as well. Most of Wake’s efforts were against 3 of the 4 best teams in the league. Calvillo’s efforts were against the worst teams in the league.
I don’t care about Spears – in the least.
Brett Favre’s actions this past year have turned him from what could have been one of the most celebrated QBs in history to simply just another egotistical athlete.
Using the Seattle Seahawks as a benchmark for winning NFL football teams is a little like saying my Leafs have more points than the Coyotes. By the way, I LOVE that Premiere Wall hasn’t screwed up the excellent shape the province was in when he took over. Kepp up the good work!
Bettman is a bigger embarrassment to hockey.
The Tennessee Titans will NOT win the Super Bowl. The NYG will.
It is time for the city to name a sports field for Ryan and Chris Getzlaf.
People need to be taught defensive driving courses every five years until they are 31, and then every 10 years after that. The concept behind defensive drive is making the assumption that every other driver on the road is attempting to involve you in a car accident. Once you start thinking that way, your chances of being involved in a collision will diminish. It is possible that those drivers who pass you, only to turn a few blocks later, could've had to go to the bathroom really bad.
Joe Buck is pretty good at both, although I am not a big fan of baseball.
Kimbo Slice has a criminal record (carrying a concealed weapon), so the odds are he would have never made it past the kind, friendly people we hire to guard our borders.
I wonder why you wouldn’t want your life spiced up? And who gets to choose what business is anybody’s business?
As a life-long Leafs fan, all I can assure you is that one or two or three teams in Toronto won’t change the facts; I will never – in my life time - see my team win the Stanley Cup. Sigh!
If you like “24”, you gotta have a look at “My Own Worst Enemy”, with Christian Slater. You have to watch it from episode one. I can burn it to a DVD from my PVR if you can’t find the first episode. This show gives you a headache, much like Platoon did.

24

Actually, the new season of 24 doesn't begin until after the New Year. The episode on Grey Cup Sunday is a 2 hour prequel for the upcoming season.

Joe Buck is OK at Baseball

Joe Buck is OK at Baseball and simply not good at football. His Dad Jack Buck was wayyyyyyy better at basbeall and going back to the Super Bowl when Palxico Burress scored the winning TD with little time left...Buck was embarassing with the call showing no emotion at all in what was clearly the biggest upset in SB history happening then and there.

Guarantee there will be much whining in Calgary if Hufnagel is not named coach of the year. Considering how few injuries Calgary had this year, to key personell, even Danny Barrett could have got 11 wins.

Unfortunately for Dressler, he plays in Regina. If he was in Toronto, he'd be a shoe in for Rookie of the Year.

Wake is MOP...no one else is even close. Too bad he'll be in the NFL next year! Hope he goes to St. Louis!
