--Are Canadians that craved for hockey that over a half million watched the Detroit-Montreal PRESEASON game the other night. C'mon!!!

--The move by the Riders to present the game ball to Leader Post Sports Writer Darrell Davis and his family just hours after his wife was laid to rest in a very emotional ceremony is one of the classiest moves I have ever seen. The relationship between a team and media can be rather tenuous at times and for this move to be made says something about the men who lead this organization. BTW: My deepest sympathies Darrell and if you are not coming back, at least come down to practice and say HI every now and then. I won't be the only one glad to see you.

--Can someone please tell me when the election is over and for those candidates in my riding that keep phoning, I will tell you if I am supporting you when I stroke an "X" besides your name. Feel free to phone when you get in office---oh right, you won't care then about my thoughts.

--Can we now admit that the Kimbo Slice hype is a little much. Nice effort Saturday Kimbo---it almost made the Cubs effort palatable
