If its just getting up and putting in the time its not worth it. All you are doing is perhaps fooling the others and you are definitely fooling yourself. You also need solid leadership from the top and have it spill down to others. The Saskatchewan Roughriders have that equation in place. From the time Jim Hopson took over as president and CEO of the football team and started to put his stamp on the squad, things have turned around. The decision to fire Roy Shivers and replace him with Eric Tillman was the best thing this organization may have ever done. Tillman is someone who is consumed with the game….he eats, sleeps and breathes football yet still finds time to spend some quality moments with his family. There is nothing that Eric Tillman wants to do more than be involved with football ---championship calibre football and that is good news for the Rider Nation. Tillman brought you the Grey Cup last year because he had a vision….once that vision became reality, he didn’t stop. He won’t rest on his laurels. His aim is to bring multiple championships to Saskatchewan. The passion he has means he won’t settle for anything less. I don’t know when and if the fire will burn out for Tillman but I do know as long as he is here putting in the effort he is now that Rider fans are in for a few more magical Sundays in late November. Saskatchewan is lucky to have him.

This team is winning because
This team is winning because they have a winning attitude and a winning work ethic, and that starts at the top. All those nay-sayers who expected the Riders to not do well without Austin or Joseph are eating their words. Not that we didn't lose some talent with them or others, but when we hit the field with our 3rd string qb against probably the best qb and rb in the league and manage not just a win, but better stats like completion percentage and no picks (other than Fantuz's broken play) you know the team is in good shape and good hands.
btw, I'm starting to think is Lumsden can stay in good shape for most of the season the Grey Cup should be Ti-Cats v Riders.
