While on a fishing trip at Jan Lake in June, I saw a black bear swimming across the lake with a fish in his mouth. He appeared perplexed more than annoyed that we stopped and watched him, glancing back over his shoulder as if to ask, "What do you want?"
It was nearly 98 years to the day after the Regina Cyclone. On June 30th, 1912, a tornado struck with deadly force, killing 28 and leaving 2500 homeless. It’s still the deadliest tornado in Canadian history.
We didn’t have much ability to forecast the weather then. Nearly a century later, the weather can still change so quickly that it surprises even advanced satellite and computer monitoring systems.
