Well, if you’re still not sure about Michael Bishop, he made a pretty convincing argument on Sunday in Winnipeg. And he did it with receivers, who in some cases were playing in their first CFL game.

Bishop threw for 370 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another 53 yards. He saved the brilliance for the 4th quarter though. In fact, by the end of the 3rd quarter, Ken Miller wouldn’t have been criticized for switching to Darian Durant.

Miller looks like a genius for sticking with Bishop and Bishop makes Eric Tillman look like a genius for dealing for him. And some of the receivers in yesterday’s game make Tillman look pretty good too, not that any Rider fans need much more proof that Eric Tillman is becoming a Rider legend in his own right.

Think about our starting offense yesterday, compared to the first game of the season. Receivers…all different. QB…different. And they put up 34 points. More actually; they got robbed of a touchdown by the refs…

Which is just typical CFL reffing. At any rate, it was only Winnipeg. The next five games the Riders play are against much tougher teams. How the patchwork Riders do, will determine much of where they finish in the standings. But while the “S” on the helmet might stand for ‘substitutes’ these days, the replacement Riders are helping to show what a team that never gives up can accomplish.
