Another round of Tammy vs. John on Gormley this morning, and another resounding loss for Tammy. (Believe it or not, I know losing is my only option when I go into those segments).
We were discussing the merits of the Sexy Nurse, the Sexy Flight Attendant, the Sexy Baby, the Sexy Construction Worker...you get the picture. Take any word and place 'Sexy' in front of it and voila - the Halloween costume du jour.
I'll admit up front that I'm a total hypocrite on this topic.
I own Lululemon gear, and really do like it. The quality is fabulous and it makes my ass look pretty good. (Any help I can get in that department is much appreciated.)
Honestly - the pieces I have were purchased for me as gifts, though I certainly played a role by placing them high on my wish list (cough<GormleyChristmas>cough).
Anyway, that's enough in my defense. Hypocrisy firmly established.
Should a Man Have to Pay Support For A Child He Didn't Know Existed?
October 23rd, 2008
The obvious answer in my mind is 'yes', but did you watch Dr Phil yesterday? Because for some people, it's not so straightforward.
October 19th through 25th is Foster Families Week, and tomorrow (Wednesday) we're going to be talking about the situation with foster families and children in our province. The bottom line is that there are more foster kids than foster homes in Saskatchewan, and that needs to be addressed now.
The Saskatchewan Government Employees Union has picked up this issue, issuing a press release last week wailing about the "children at risk" and how SGEU members are so worried "about the long-term impact on the children's health and well-being."
Really.
There's a feeling you get when you've discovered your child has done something really, really stupid...something dangerous that put themselves and others at risk. You know the feeling - it surfaces when you're about to confront him or her and you realize that you're so relieved that nobody was hurt, it's impossible to be as mad as you want to be.
That's how I feel about Stephen Harper today.
Here's the video we're talking about on John Gormley Live this morning.

CTV’s Steve Murphy asked Mr. Dion Thursday: "If you were prime minister now, what would you have done about the economy and this crisis that Mr. Harper has not done?"
Dion doesn't seem to understand the question, and as a result requests that the interview is restarted - twice.
The other day, Gormley and I were musing over what the hot topic would be on October 15th if we are facing a mirror-reflection government - Dion leading the Opposition, and Harper leading a minority government.
Our answer has become obvious...we're going to be talking leadership.
If Stephen Harper cannot pull off an ass-kicking of monumental proportions - a landslide of a majority - the knives will come out and the Liberal party won't be the only party with leadership up for grabs.
I don't know if it's because of my job, because I'm genuinely interested in being well-informed, or because I have no life - regardless, I'm pretty pumped for tonight's televised debates.
This is 'real' reality television, complete with strategy, manipulation, judgment, backstabbing and undoubtedly, a whole lot of lying.
