After Thursday night's loss to Edmonton, I referred to Marcus Crandell's  play, as well some other Riders, as "horrid". Many veteran quarterbacks could put a 10 point lead to good use and bury their opponents. Instead the Riders were dominated by the Eskimos.

Today we find Michael Bishop in, and perhaps Crandell is on his way out of Saskatchewan.  While I never saw this coming, I can't say that I'm surprised. In football you have 18 trips to the plate. Crandell has been in for back to back losses, and let's be honest, Darian Durant's two wins were very impressive this season. For my money DD has been the best quarterback this team hashad.

I can't say that I automatically think winner, when I think of Michael Bishop.  However, I never put Kerry Joseph in to Ricky Ray and Anthony Calvillo's company either, and last year Joseph led the Riders to the Grey Cup.

Riders General Manager Eric Tillman summed it up best on Saturday when he said "We are in a performance based business." That performance on Satuday was worthy of having some players, including Crandell, step aside.
