News Talk onDemand - Frequenty Asked Questions
Q. What time do the onDemand podcasts get updated?
A. It depends on the show. John Gormley Live, The Murray Wood Show and The Drew Remenda Sports Show are updated within 24 hours of their broadcast. Weekend shows are available on the Monday following the weekend (or the Tuesday in the event of a long weekend.) Features like News Unfiltered are updated on a as-needed basis.
Q. How far back do you keep shows?
A. We will be maintaining a 2 month archive of shows on News Talk onDemand. This helps ensure that we're not overloading our server with too many back-episodes.
Q. It says the podcast isn't available because of technical difficulties. What does that mean?
A. At times, episodes of our programs may become unavailable due to problems during the recording of the broadcast caused either by a software fault or due to breaking news interrupting the regular flow of the program.
Q. The episode I'm looking for isn't here. Can you burn me a CD?
A. Sorry. News Talk Radio does not provide or release recordings of our programs except through the onDemand site.
Q. Can you provide a transcript of a show?
A. Sorry. News Talk Radio does not provide or release transcripts of our programs. If you are looking for transcripts of our broadcasts, an organization called Newswatch provides a monitoring and transcription service. They can be reached at newswatch [at] cableregina.com.
Q. Are the onDemand podcasts verbatim recordings of the actual broadcast?
A. No. In all cases, we've removed our show 'intros', our 'throws to break' as well as the commercials.
Q. Why don't you provide onDemand podcasts of (insert show title here).
A. News Talk Radio only provides onDemand podcasts of shows we produce in-house. This is due to licensing agreements with our content providers including The Fan Radio Network, the Canadian Press, CNN Radio and the Corus Radio Network. Q. How do I set up podcasts to automatically download on my computer?
A. The easiest way is to use the One-Click Subscription buttons on a show's onDemand page. We recommend iTunes as a podcast client for its ease of use. Clicking the subscription button, you will automatically tell iTunes that you want to download shows... and it will do the rest!
