Cates Helps Out Knox Foundation

Rider Running Back Donates Tickets for Cancer Victims
Story Tools

Saskatchewan Roughriders running back Wes Cates is donating four pairs of tickets for the rest of the year to the Chris Knox Foundation. That is the group created in honour of the cancer victim who died shortly after the Riders won the Grey Cup in November. After hearing his story of Mike McCullough yanking him out of the stands and taking him into the Rider dressing room last Labour Day, the people of Saskatchewan came through to make sure Knox and others with cancer could see the Riders play in the Grey Cup in person. Saskpower and Saskenergy are also donating 2-thousand dollars each to the foundation. Cates says it is his honour to allow kids with such a terrible disease to have a few hours watching their football heroes do their thing.
