Enemy, Not Friendly, Fire Killed Saskatoon Soldier: Investigation

Killed in Confusing Gun Battle Last Month
Story Tools

The military says it was enemy, and not friendly fire, that claimed the life of a Saskatoon soldier last month.

Master Corporal Josh Roberts was shot and killed during a confusing gun battle with insurgents in the Zhari district of Afghanistan.

There were reports that the fatal shots may have come from a private security contractor. But an investigation finds that the company was in the area, but wasn't responsible for the death of soon-to-be father Roberts.
