911 Tracks Cell Numbers

Operators will receive numbers of incoming callers
Story Tools

SaskTel is making it easier for emergency services to respond to 911 calls that come in from cell phones.

An upgrade to the Crown telecom's wireless network will provide operators taking a 911 call from a SaskTel cell with the phone's number and the tower location the call originates from.

A minor fee increase will be charged to help recover the cost, roughly ten cents a month for each cell phone.
