Gas Prices Going Up
Prices have gone up as high as 88.9 cents a litre
No need to rub your eyes.
You're seeing correct.
Gas prices have started to go up in Regina
And the jump has been anywhere from 6 to 15 cents.
You can still find some stations though that are still at 73.9 or 74.9 cents a litre.
Most stations are at 83.9 cents
The highest reported so far is at one Petro Canada on Albert Street at 88.9 cents a litre.
Senior Petroleum Analyst for Enpro International Roger McKnight says the reasoning for the increase is that oil companies haven't made any money on gas since about May.
And now wit the start of the first quarter of 2009, the companies have to make it up
Prices are expected to jump up and down the next few weeks.

Ok so they haven't made
Ok so they haven't made money since May but they've been ripping us off for years.
Are you kidding me? They
Are you kidding me? They made no money since May... I find that very VERY hard to believe when we were paying $1.40+
"oil companies haven't made
"oil companies haven't made any money on gas since about May." i'm gonna call bull****
these guys are f@#$ed
enough said
Oil drops $110/barrel and
Oil drops $110/barrel and gas prices drop $.70. Oil rises $10/barrel, gas jumps $.12. Somethings not right. At this rate when oil gets back to $150/barrel gas will be close to $2/L. Ridiculous.
PPPFFFFFFF!!!
OH the poor little gas companies didn't make any money gouging us (yeah right)....boo hoo hoo I feel so sorry for them. How can you make no money selling something that almost everyone in North America and Europe uses. What a flippin joke.
If you can why not???? They
If you can why not????
They must have paid themselves a little (alot) to much of a bonuses at the end of the year. They don't make quite enough money. Greed is what gets our economy into trouble in the first place. I wish they would need my services for just 5 mins out in the nowhere land and then they would just find out what pricing gouging is all about. Oh What A Feeling!
Raising Prices
Too bad we couldn't do the same with our beef
Price goughing at the pumps....AGAIN
I believe one of Stepen Harpers' campaign promises was to form a Board to monitor gas prices in this country and investigate price goughing and collusion within the oil and gas industry. Would this not be the time to drag the CEOs' of the major petroleum producers in front of this board and make them justify the need for this phony increase? We as Canadians are way to complacent and willing to accept these ridicoulus increases shoved dowm our throats by the petroleum companies. After all, they were a major contributor to the recession we are all now paying for. Let's also not forget that they are also a reason why the "Big Three" are in so much trouble as well. For years these companies were in "bed" with the petroleum industry producing gas guzzling SUVs and trucks when the technology has been around for many years for double the gas mileage. The petroleum industry simply bought up this technology and hid it away. I have a novel idea! Instead of the Canadian taxpayer getting bent over at the pumps and also being asked to bail out an auto industry that priced its' way out of business the following should happen. The petroleum companies should now be forced to hand over some of their obscene record high profits to bail out the very same companies, namely the "Big Three" that have been in the pockets of these energy hogs for years!
Another suggestion would be to force all fuel suppliers and retailers to post the fuel prices not only by the cost per litre but also by the the price per gallon as it was in the good old days when we were running on the Imperial system of measurement. I would venture to say that you would hear a bit more noise if overnight the price at the pumps jumped 40 cents a gallon instead of a slight bump of 9 cents a litre!
It's time we as Canadians stand up and demand more from our Federal Government and demand that CEOs' of these price goughing bandits be made accountable for their blatant greed! They should have a gas nozzle stuck up you know where!
Of course they made
Of course they made money....they pay BIG BONUSES TO THE WORKERS ALL THE TIME!
Why can't the oil companies
Why can't the oil companies go to the government for a bail out? If we can do it for the auto industry, we can do it for the oil industry. I'm sure the tax payers in Ontario would be happy to save jobs out here in the west.
HOLY S**T That's all that I
HOLY S**T That's all that I should have to say. Wish we could crank up prices with our business too, but that would be gouging. How can our elected officials allow this to happen? Ottawa needs to open its eyes to what oil companies are doing. We are being ripped off in a huge way. There is never any justification for what they are doing. I hope these big CEO's of the oil companies reap what they sow. They have no conscience, that is for sure. Enough said.
