The Underwear King is making a stop in Saskatoon.

Brent King, an engineer from Calgary, has been crowned that after his latest charity endeavour.

King made a stop at The Bridge on 20th Street West on Sunday. He dropped off 2500 brand new pairs of undies.

His main goal: To deliver over 25,000 pairs of underwear to homeless shelters across Canada.

But why underwear?

"I liked it first of all because it gave me a chuckle." said King, "And it's one of those very basic necessities that I take for granted personally. I thought if I didn't have it that would be something that I would appreciate."

King started out by originally wanting to give back to his community. He went to the Calgary Mustard Seed's website looking for ideas. He found that their shelter's wish-list had underwear at the top.

He found out shortly after that every shelter's wish list in Canada aren't any different. They all need donations of underwear.

King said people can't help but elicit a laugh at the chosen garment but also said the problem real people are facing is no joke.

"In talking to some of these people that have recieved it, they say its absolutely crucial to their self-esteem and their dignity." explains King.

"It's just one of those things that helps them pick themselves up and may give them a fighting chance to get back on their feet again."

King's website is gotclothing.ca. He's stopping in Regina to drop off 2500 more pairs on Monday. Donations are encouraged, but King jokingly stresses they only accept new pairs.
