The war memorial, next to the Legislative building in Regina, will be monitored on a regular basis.

This after vandals scribbled racially offensive messages on one section a couple of weeks ago.

Building Operator Steve Bata describes what is being done to help ensure this doesn't happen again.

"We're looking to enhance our security system we have and make some improvements.  We found a way to provide that coverage and we're going to be going ahead with that immediately."

One or two enhanced cameras will be in place watching over the memorial.

Bata says with the new technology, if you are going to go into the memorial to do bad things, the cameras will pick you up.

Grow up and show some

Grow up and show some respect people! You can't get much more cowardly then vandalizing a war memorial.

I suggest that if vandals

I suggest that if vandals are caught now that this security system is in place, they the vandals be put to work-yes I said work to clean up any and all grafitti that needs to be cleaned. It's one thing to deface someone's property, but it is a real cowardly act to deface the memory of the very people that make your community safe.

What would happen if they

What would happen if they were caught?

Do what they would do in Afganistan

They criminals should have one hand each cut off. I'll bet that would stop anyone else from doing the say thing twice.
