Saskatoon Market is balancing says Realtors Assocation

Saskatoon's real estate market continues to 'Balance' according to the Saskatoon Association of Realtors.

June's sales figures show Residential sales for the month were up 38% when compared to June 2008.  Going from 321 properties sold to 442.

The average selling price continues its slide.  In June, the selling price is down 11% compared to the same time last year.  It now stands at $276,867.  The year to date average stands at $276,232 down 5% from 2008.

The number of homes on the market continues to dwindle as well.  There were 669 properties listed in the month of June.  Thats down 26% from June 2008 when 904 homes were on the market.

In a news release, the association's executive officer Harry Janzen describes market conditions as favorable noting low interest rates, steady employment numbers and generally strong consumer confidence.
