Police Search Fails to Find Missing Teen
A search of the area didn't come up with a missing teenager from Edmonton who was camping at Manitou Beach, near Watrous. Now, police are turning to the public.
RCMP sergeant Doug Coleman says her family is concerned about the safety of 17-year-old Ekaterina Sotnikova.
"She was last seen... just around midnight July 25th," Coleman said Sunday. "When her family was awakened the next day, she wasn't there."
The police did a ground search Saturday.
"RCMP in Watrous did a search of the area, actually assisted by the police service dog out of Regina RCMP," Coleman said, as they explored the possibility that she may have left on her own.
Ekaterina is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 90 pounds, with grey eyes, long dark hair, and with a pierced lip. She was last seen in pink pajama pants, black jacket, and red flip-flops.
She may have a green backpack.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Watrous RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
