Average Attendance for Regina's Buffalo Days
Evraz Place says changes made to the Buffalo Days exhibition for this year were popular with visitors.
The fair, which began using the name Queen City Ex this year, saw more than 190,683 people pass through the gates. That's about on par with the five year average, but a slight dip from last year.
Neil Donnelly with Evraz Place says cool, damp conditions hampered attendance early on, but things picked up towards the end of the five-day event.
"Our crowds on both Saturday and Sunday were really quite good," Donnelly said Monday morning. "It ended up being a really positive weekend for us.
"The crowds for Johnny Reid and MC Hammer really packed Confederation Park."
Donnelly says new entertainment attractions also played a big part.
"Walking with Lions... was absolutely jam-packed from the very first show, right through to the end," he said, also citing hypnotist Wayne Lee and illusionist Sheldon Casavant as big draws.
One big change next year will be the completion of the Co-operators Centre. Donnelly says it will be part of their planning work for next year as some of the older buildings are withdrawn from use.
