CIBC cuts ribbon on multilingual branch in Regina
The ribbon is being cut on a CIBC branch in Regina that will offer services in a number of languages that are becoming more common in Regina.
Kevin Dove with CIBC said the branch, which is near the Victoria Square Mall, shows CIBC recognizes the growth in Regina, as well as the expanding community.
"We're
going to be offering six languages at the branch, and I think that
really represents the vibrant economy that exists in Regina," he said.
The
languages include English, Cantonese, Hindi, Pashto and Farsi. Dove says the languages reflect those who have been applying to work with the
bank in the city.
The over 9,000 square foot branch is known as the CIBC Victoria and University Park Banking Centre and can be found at 2227 Victoria Avenue East. It has been open since September, but the grand opening ceremony is being held Saturday.
CIBC will also be making a $10,000 donation to the Rainbow Youth Centre at the ceremony.
