Conservative MP Defends Building Canada Wait

Cost over-runs on Building Canada projects are apparently no concern to the federal government.
There's been a furor at Regina City Hall this week mayor Pat Fiacco alleging the federal infrastructure minister is delaying payments under the infrastructure fund, putting off the start date for the IPSCO Place redevelopment and potentially costing millions in overrun costs.

I realize this is a city of 200,000. Sometimes though, people who visit don’t do the math. They come from cities that are bigger than ours. They expect to pick up their bags, walk out the door and have a cab waiting. Every time I have landed at the Regina International Airport I have had to wait for a taxi. And wait. And wait. Granted we are not a million yet, and don’t have 80 cabs lined up waiting for eager visitors to pour cash into our economy. But can we at least fake it?

Is it just me, or do Canadian hockey fans tend to give off that 'slighted yet hopeful ex-boyfriend' vibe?
I say this after spending 30 minutes on the elliptical tonight at the gym. There, I found myself gritting my teeth as I watched barbeque-mastering, red-state inhabiting, Dubya-loving Texans bounce up and down, cheering on their beloved Minnesota North... er... Dallas Stars.
Then, I caught myself.
